Naturopathic consultation
Nutrition, Lifestyle, Supplement Therapy
To prevent is to keep something from happening, which is exactly what we want to do with diseases, sickness, pain, etc. In order to prevent sickness and promote optimal wellness, it is necessary to
learn how to take care of our bodies in such a way that we never have before.
Nutrition, the first thing I want to know about; what are you putting in your mouth? What are you feeding your body? We have to stop eating junk and start eating nutritious foods that bring life to every cell in the body. We have to find time to get in physical movement, and learn how to relax and laugh. Keeping your body in a state of optimum health is prevention in itself. We may not be able to prevent every cold or headache, but what if a healthier lifestyle could prevent heart disease, diabetes, or even cancer? What if healthier choices helped your body better fight colds, flu, and other more minor issues with greater effect? What if? Then would you try it? Then would putting down the soda and picking up the water be worth it?
What if prevention is key to a long, healthy life; and what if choosing the right foods, the right supplements, and the right activities all play a role in prevention? Just ask yourself, would it be worth it?
Here we talk overall lifestyle and supplement therapy. We work to get your body in its healthiest state. Education on how, what, why, and when is essential, and that is where a Naturopathic consultation can help you achieve healthy living for a lifetime. Do not go at it alone; we are here to help, and we meet you where you are.
Plants have been used for their medicinal and therapeutic properties for centuries. Even in the Bible you hear of the frankincense and myrrh being brought to Jesus as gifts. Herbs hold much value in the field of Naturopathic Medicine, where they are generally used to increase energy, combat infection, promote healing, reduce pain, aide in sleep, encourage relaxation, and bring healing and wellness to the various organs of the body.
Herbs are a wonderful source of natural medicine, because they are in themselves, food, which works to treat the whole person. This is especially true when combination herbs are used to treat a specific condition.
”Like cures like.”
Homeopathy may be one of the most difficult modalities to explain, and even more difficult to believe until you see it work! Once you experience the healing benefits of homeopathy, you quickly become a believer in the power of the “sugar pill”, as many call it.
Homeopathy may be best described by using the following example: Think about the symptoms that cutting an onion causes. When you cut an onion your nose starts to run and your eyes tear up, similar to allergies or a cold. Therefore, in order to promote healing you would then take allium cepa (onion) in its homeopathic form (greatly diluted) for a runny nose and/or watery eyes, because homeopathy is based on like cures like. Since allium cepa (onion) produces these types of symptoms, it is known to heal these symptoms as well. Like cures like and less is more are the simplest ways to think about homeopathy.
